Sorrento is a 5-minute drive, so you get Sorrento’s cafes, galleries and ferry on your doorstep, then come home to a calmer street, your own heated pool and a tennis court next door.
Why stay just outside Sorrento
- Close, not crowded: Sorrento village is a 5-minute drive. Summer weekends in Sorrento’s main street are busy; Blairgowrie stays quiet.
- Walk to your own beach and shops: a 5-minute walk to the beach (Port Phillip Bay and Blairgowrie Front Beach) and a 5-minute walk to the shops in Blairgowrie village.

Sorrento from Casa al Mare
- The Sorrento–Queenscliff ferry: the Searoad terminal is about a 5-minute drive. The crossing takes 40 minutes and runs hourly from 7am to 6pm, so a day trip to Queenscliff is easy. Look out for dolphins.
- Sorrento front beach: a calm bay beach with lifeguards on duty in summer.
- Back beaches: the ocean beaches of the Mornington Peninsula National Park on Bass Strait, with rock pools at low tide. They are not patrolled, so check conditions on Beachsafe.
- Portsea and Point Nepean: Portsea village is about 18 minutes’ drive and Point Nepean National Park about 20 minutes.

The pool is heated by an electric heat pump to about 25°C. Pool heating is included in spring, summer and autumn. In winter it’s available on request for an extra charge.
Tennis court right next door, through a private gate, yours to use any time during your stay. Lights are available for night play until 10pm, and rackets and balls are provided.
